Bendigo Field and Game club is a branch of Field and Game Australia. We are an incorporated association with over four hundred members, governed by a volunteer committee elected at the Annual General Meeting. The current Bendigo Committee for 2025 – 2026 comprises:

Bendigo Field & Game brings together regular competitions, a strong conservation ethic, and an inclusive shooting community for members across Victoria and southern NSW.

We hold a clay target event once a month (generally on the 4th Saturday) with over ninety Competitors attending on average.

Bendigo Field and Game is one of Victoria’s most popular venues for clay target shooting, due to our central location and reputation for well set and varied targets.

We draw people from all over Victoria and southern NSW. Bendigo members make up the majority of attendees (some 60%) and the competition features four Open Divisions, as well as Ladies, Veterans and Juniors divisions.

Duck Hunting Education & Information Night

Educating our hunters on the rules and responsibilities of duck hunting  is an important function of the Club. Each year we hold a Duck Fever Information Night including information on:

  • Season open times, rules and penalties
  • Bag limits and penalties
  • Duck identification and species not to be hunted that year 
  • Protected species identification
  • Best practice for retrieving, harvest and humane dispatch 
  • Ethical hunting
  • Hunting areas and no-go places
  • Safety

Clay Target Shooting Training & Education

We also offer training and education for clay target shooting including:

Our History

Bendigo Field and Game celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025. The club held its first meeting at the ANA Downtown Motel View Street, Bendigo on February 7th, 1975. We moved onto our first shooting ground at “Jack Hawkins” property in Axedale in 1977 which became a meeting place for field shooting practice and common interest. The club provided members with organised field activities from duck shooting trips in season, ducks on the rice and fox drives. The shooting ground moved to Wellsford in 1983 and we had 15 years there. We moved to our present shooting ground at Bagshot North by 2000 which we fully own.
